The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville, FL will be hosting a booth at the Fall Jacksonville Home and Patio Show’s Hurricane Resource Center. Its aim is to raise awareness and educate the public on Hurricane Preparedness for area residents. We will engage visitors in activities to help people understand the real impacts from hurricanes and other weather events, through trivia games with presentations, digital displays and educational material for all ages. Be sure to visit the Hurricane Resource Center, where representatives from JEA will be on hand to offer storm preparation tips as well as information on JEA’s process for restoring power following a hurricane or other weather-related emergency.

Animal Care and Protective Services

Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) provides animal control to the citizens in Jacksonville by fair enforcement and community education. ACPS also enhances the quality of life in our neighborhoods by offering quality pets for adoption at a reasonable cost. ACPS is dedicated to providing a high level of service to the citizens in Jacksonville and to saving the lives of all adoptable animals in our community.
